Okay so the red round thing, thats just so you can remove the the and glue it to some place en the car, where you want the GPS, if you don’t want it in the window… Right?
Cause that’s cool I’m in a wheelchair and just bought the GPS today and I will have a hard time reaching it if it is in the window…

One thing about that Garmin does not have that Magellan has is that if you are in the line of work of doing service calls to homes or businesses, it is nice to enter the address by zip code first so that it THEN shows you the cities. Not look at the cities first then zip codes…why? Because some people know their zip code better than their city or township. But one may have different reasons to use a GPS…you can’t enter zip code first on a Garmin.

There is a small chance for recovery. Otherwise it is completely useless for the theft, because nobody will buy it locked.

Garmin 265 has tons of problems with updates, lots of people have no volume anymore and the unit does not always power up when the vehicle is started, only once in a while. Do a google search and you will see all the problems and Garmins lack of any solutions or support. Boycott garmin until they provide decent service, unfourtunately service is something they lack bigtime.

Don’t quite get how it has anti-theft features.
It has ant-functionality for the thief but the device isn’t going to be returned to me because of that.
    LOL! WTF?

does it have a f.m transmitter whereas you can listen to your phone calls thru your radio?

he didn’t mention free lifetime traffic report(some say it’s better than msn’s subscription traffic report), or say much about the bluetooth feature. those two features are the only difference from the earlier models so they should have been more thoroughly reviewed.

    1. You are not able to browse contacts (at least not with a Nokia 5300).
    2. MSN DIRECT, as he pointed out, is an extra (separate) feature (check Garmin’s website to learn more about MSN DIRECT).

  21. JudythF on July 17, 2010 at 7:27 pm

There’s no MSN feature in this device

I have this Nuvi 265T and it’s my 4th Garmin. It is simply outstanding! The screen is brighter than previous 3.5″ screens, it works FAST, is great. Love it, well worth the money.
